Ray Beckerman joined Vandenberg & Feliu, LLP, as a partner, in April 2006, in order to be better able to service complex commercial and copyright litigations. His practice consists primarily of serving the needs of small and mid-sized businesses, and litigating and arbitrating commercial disputes in the New York City state and federal courts and alternative dispute resolution forums. Additionally, he supervises litigations and other proceedings taking place in other geographical areas, advises businesses and not-for-profits, incorporates start-up entities, negotiates contracts, and assists in obtaining copyrights and trademarks. One of his favorite activities is working with start-up companies in the technology field, and individuals working in these areas. Ray is a member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and an avid participant in iBreakfast's Silicon Alley Breakfast Club. Ray is a member of the Information Technology Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Ray began his legal career with Phillips Nizer Benjamin Krim & Ballon, and then went on to serve as a litigation associate with Lowey Dannenberg & Knapp P. C. and Squadron Ellenoff Plesent & Lehrer, as the sole principal of Ray Beckerman P.C., and as a partner in Gallet Dreyer & Berkey and Beldock Levine & Hoffman, before finding a home at Vandenberg & Feliu, LLP.

In 2004 Ray became a 'blogger', first creating the blog "Ohio Election Fraud" relating to the 2004 presidential election in Ohio. In 2005 he created the blog "Recording Industry vs. The People," (http://recordingindustryvspeople.blogspot.com) which collects information about the copyright infringement litigations prosecuted by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) against owners of internet access accounts that are linked to peer-to-peer file sharing. Ray speaks at CLE conferences and seminars on this subject.

Ray is married with three grown children and resides in Jamaica Estates, New York. He is a recreational distance runner, participating when he can in area road and cross country races from 5k to half marathon distances, and is a student of Kung Fu. He also enjoys bicycling, walking, hiking, traveling, and vegetable gardening. He grew up in The Bronx and Queens, attended Bronx High School of Science, and is general counsel to the Bronx County Historical Society
